Protests, #ICEoutnow, Support for Minneapolis

January 31, 2026 ProDemocracy Strategists

Today started with a protest in Renton, Washington outside of a Tesla dealership. I had wondered if there would be difficulty for Elon Musk because of the 3 million documents that dropped last night from the buffoonish Pam Bondi, Kash Patel Department of Justice.

Before heading out to do the protest, I knew that the redactions that the DOJ took extra time to do supposedly, they managed to redact abusers really well but accidentally left in victim’s names and compromising pictures in the latest dump of Epstein Files. It is such a horrible and offensive situation to have such an unprofessional government under this clown car show that is the Trump Regime.

There were no signs at the Tesla protest about Elon being mentioned but I thought it was important to be ready for a resurgence when mention of him shows up in this even darker terrible batch of Epstein Files out now.

The Washington Educators Association had a cheerful red showing of clothing and signs that made me realize I had avoided red now for a bit because of MAGA hats. I was happy to feel good about red again.

The speeches were clear and helpful which is on par with what I would expect of teachers.

I almost burst into tears when I saw a woman with a Minnesota sweatshirt on walking back to the car after marching from the college park, down Pine Street, across Highway 5, to near the Federal Building and back to our car again at the college. I was delighted to have a pal to protest with at the Seattle event who gave the excursion a party feeling for me.

My phone died before the marching part of the second protest, but the day felt so satisfying. Lots of chanting, camaraderie and a feeling of accomplishment left me feeling like part of the team saving democracy today.
